Bologna, Italy – The 26th EUCARPIA Maize and Sorghum Conference took place from June 30 to July 2, 2025, bringing together leading researchers and industry experts under the theme “Maize & Sorghum Breeding: Genome Editing, AI, and Biodiversity” . The conference focused on cutting-edge advancements in plant breeding, including the application of genome editing tools, artificial intelligence, and biodiversity strategies aimed at enhancing crop resilience and performance in the face of climate change.
The CREDIT Vibes project was proudly represented at this prestigious event. Ana Nikolić contributed to the scientific programme with an oral presentation titled “Effect of chilling stress on the transcriptome of maize roots during the V3 growth stage”. Her lecture highlighted key findings related to maize’s molecular response to cold stress, an increasingly relevant topic given the climatic challenges affecting agricultural productivity.

In addition, Dr. Sanja Perić presented a poster entitled “Utilizing SNP markers to enhance hybrid performance and yield in maize breeding”, showcasing the project’s ongoing work in leveraging molecular tools to improve breeding outcomes.

Participation in the EUCARPIA conference provided a valuable platform for the CREDIT Vibes team to share their research findings, exchange insights with fellow scientists, and contribute to the future of sustainable and innovative maize breeding.
