The Democritus University of Thrace, as the leading partner of the first European Digital Innovation Hub in the Hellenic agri-food sector #DigiAgriFood, together with the Interbalkan Environment Centre (IBEC), scientific coordinator of the European project Carbonica EU – “Carbon Sequestration Initiative for Climate Resilient Agriculture”, organized an open educational seminar and field demonstration on the topic: “Carbon Farming: New Business Opportunities in the Agricultural Sector”.

The event, held in the area of Chrysoupolis, Kavala, brought together experts, farmers, and stakeholders to explore innovative approaches to carbon sequestration and sustainable farming practices.

During the seminar, the CREDIT Vibes project was actively promoted by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) team, who are also involved in related IBEC initiatives. The team distributed informational material and presented the project’s objectives, highlighting its contribution to advancing climate-smart solutions and sustainable development in agriculture.

This collaborative effort emphasized the importance of integrating carbon farming into agri-business strategies, not only to mitigate climate change but also to create new economic opportunities for farmers across Greece and Europe.
