The Final Conference of the CREDIT Vibes Project, held from September 29 to October 2, 2025, at the Falkensteiner Hotel in Belgrade, Serbia, brought together leading experts, researchers, and professionals to discuss the future of agriculture while celebrating a significant milestone — the 80th anniversary of the Maize Research Institute Zemun Polje.

Since its establishment in 1945, the Institute has been a cornerstone of scientific and professional excellence in plant breeding, genetics, and crop production. Over the past eight decades, it has grown into an internationally recognized center, with more than 1,000 maize hybrids and soybean and small grain cereal varieties cultivated worldwide.
The conference attracted 150 participants from 17 countries, covering a wide range of topics including plant breeding, biodiversity, genomics, biotechnology, food safety, climate change challenges, eco-friendly practices, and digital agriculture. Presentations were delivered through thematic sessions and e-poster formats, encouraging broad exchange of knowledge and ideas.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the final results and key achievements of the CREDIT Vibes Project, underscoring its contributions to agricultural innovation and sustainable practices.

By combining the celebration of the Institute’s legacy with the conclusion of a major European project, the conference underscored both the tradition and the forward-looking vision of the Maize Research Institute Zemun Polje in shaping the future of agriculture.
