As part of the EU-funded CREDIT Vibes project, a focused training course titled “Training on Validation and Verification of Analytical Testing Methods”was held in Belgrade. Organized by the Association of the Chemical Engineers of Serbia, this one-day program aimed to strengthen the analytical capacities of researchers involved in laboratory testing and quality assurance. The course was attended by two project team members—Dr. Jelena Vukadinović and MSc Beka Sarić—who participated in the intensive six-hour session led by experienced lecturers Nenad Kostić and Marija Rakićević.

The training was structured into two main blocks, combining theoretical foundations with hands-on exercises. The morning session introduced participants to the critical requirements of the SRPS ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard and walked them through the validation and verification process of analytical methods, emphasizing data quality, performance characteristics, and reporting practices.
In the second part of the training, the focus shifted to practical applications. Through five exercises, participants worked on defining performance characteristics, testing calibration curve linearity, determining method precision and accuracy, and using Microsoft Excel for calculating performance parameters. The final component involved drafting a method validation report, followed by a dedicated discussion period to address real-world challenges and exchange best practices.
Designed for laboratory personnel, analytical chemists, and researchers, this training represents a valuable capacity-building activity within the CREDIT Vibes project. By equipping researchers with advanced skills in method validation and verification, the project contributes to more robust and reliable scientific outputs in agricultural and environmental research.
This event reaffirms the project’s commitment to excellence in research standards and continuous professional development of its staff.
