MRI Researcher Gains Expertise in Food and Soil Spectroscopy During Staff Exchange at AUTH

As part of the CREDIT Vibes project Staff Exchange Program, Marijana Simić from the Maize Research Institute (MRI) visited the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), one of the project’s consortium partners.

During her training at AUTH, Marijana explored the use of spectroscopy in food analysis. The sessions, led by Professor Achilleas Zalidis and Giorgos Boletos, introduced her to the NeoSpectra Scanner, a portable NIR spectrometer, providing valuable hands-on experience in advanced food analysis techniques.

Following this successful training, she broadened her expertise by learning the application of spectroscopy in soil analysis using the Spectral Evolution PSR+ spectroradiometer. This training further enhanced her knowledge in precision agriculture and sustainable resource management.

The staff exchange highlights the project’s commitment to knowledge sharing, capacity building, and collaboration among partners. By facilitating such exchanges, CREDIT Vibes strengthens research excellence and innovation across institutions, contributing to impactful results in agri-food research.
